Human Resource Development

We offer a variety of programs themed around Minamisanriku’s forests, villages, the sea, and people in order to cultivate the mindset necessary for the next generation of leaders who will lead a sustainable society.

More than just experiential learning, we provide awareness, hints, and empathy, including perspectives from natural and social sciences and consensus-building methods, to help participants “make the issues their own” and take action.

Training Program for Companies and Schools

This program not only provides knowledge, but also gives participants the opportunity to take local events personally, consider what they can do to solve problems, and take action.

SDGs Active Learning Program

Toward the realization of a sustainable society, we offer a human resource development program that targets the various challenges facing local forests, villages, and the sea.

Facilitation course

Communication is key to achieving results within an organization and our facilitation courses provide training opportunities to review communication practices within your organization and develop positive, upbeat and goal-oriented people.

Lectures

Training and Internship

Training Program for the General Public and Children

We hold events to clearly communicate research and surveys being conducted in the Minamisanriku Town to the general public.

We focus on fostering independent thinking, promoting direct interaction with researchers, and encouraging bottom-up discussions between local residents and participants.

Video Teaching Materials for the General Public

Our center’s YouTube channel, the “Shizugawa Bay Channel,” distributes videos that explain topics such as ocean acidification, environmental DNA, and facilitation in an easy-to-understand manner for the general public. (This video was produced with funding from the Nippon Foundation’s “Umi-to-Nippon Project (Ocean and Japan Project).”)

Regional Internship Coordination

We coordinate practical internships where students work diligently to solve problems facing companies. This program provides unprecedented growth opportunities for students from all over the country, while also offering various benefits to local companies, such as operational reform, new business launches, and human resource development, thereby contributing to the creation of workplaces that thrive in the region.
