About Center for Sustainable Society

The Center for Sustainable Society aims to realize a sustainable “INOCHI MEGURU MACHI*” in Minamisanriku Town by making the effective use of local natural resources and human resource. In addition, as the secretariat for the Communities of Life Forum (Minamisanriku INOCHI MEGURU MACHI GAKKAI), we provide opportunities for researchers, businesses, and residents to exchange information on an equal footing.

*“INOCHI MEGURU MACHI” means a town where life is interconnected and circulates. Minamisanriku Town has the town’s vision, “Minamisanriku: MORI SATO UMI HITO INOCHI MEGURU MACHI (A town where life is interconnected and circulates among forests, villages, the sea, and people).”
